Hi Tony,
I still have fond memories of my Dad (Charlie O’Brien) taking me for pickup basketball games when I was in high school. It was your first year on campus as a professor. You and I were the scrappiest players on the court and still don’t know who threw more elbows 🙂 It was always a pleasure meeting with you in the future as you became President. I became an Alumn and was on the business school advisory board. You and Karen are a treasure for Clarkson and I wish you a wonderful future. Thanks for the memories as well from my teen years!

The Presidential Team has done an excellent job, during many tumultuous years in a Country in turmoil, keeping the University above it all. During your reign CLARKSON has done nothing but gained reputation while keeping its charm and smallness which was appreciated in ’63 and I am sure is appreciated by the present student population.
GREAT JOB and best of Luck for all the rest of your tomorrow’s. The Williams

Tony,
Thank you for making the Clarkson family what it is, your and Karen’s commitment to the students, fostering a fantastic community for all involved, and for creating a culture that changed the lives of so many. Choosing Clarkson was the best decision I’ve ever made, and my memories from my time there will likely carry on for generations thanks to the quality of friendships that were developed there. The accolades for the school speak for themselves on the quality of academics, but one of the most unique things about Clarkson was your involvement with student’s activities, inviting us to your house on multiple occasions, and leading by example in so many ways.
Best wishes for a life in retirement filled with happiness and love!
Best wishes,
Bri

Hi Tony and Karen,
Congrats on your retirement and I am sure you are looking forward to new adventures ahead!
When I was getting ready to retire 5 years ago, a good friend from the Red Cross shared some sage advice. He said,” when you are retired you had better know BEFORE you go to bed what you are going to do the next day, or else you will find yourself walking in circles.” It took a few years for that to sink in and then I realized exactly what he meant. So, if you two find yourself walking in circles someday, please know the door is always open in Prescott, AZ (home of the deer, antelope, and AL’s collection of Elk!). When it’s snowy and dreary in PA, go “West” young man (and woman), and we will show you a good time.
All the best to you both!
Linda
