Admissions Volunteers

We need alumni to help spread the word about what it means to be a part of the Clarkson family! Hearing from alums gives prospective students and families real life examples of Clarkson success stories and insights that can only come from the people who have lived it – and it truly makes a big difference!

Clarkson’s Alumni Admissions Ambassador program aims to connect students with alumni in a variety of different ways. As an Alumni Admissions Ambassador, you can donate whatever level of time and talent you are comfortable with. Every little bit counts! Here’s how you can get involved:

Social Media: Serve as a Clarkson Brand Influencer on Facebook and/or Instagram by posting occasionally about Clarkson and/or sharing Clarkson posts on your own social media accounts using Clarkson’s branded hashtags.

Handwritten Notes: Write personalized congratulatory and welcoming “Knight Notes” to students who have been accepted and/or have sent their deposit to Clarkson.

Email Correspondence: Answer questions from admitted students regarding student life, academic programs, internships & co-ops, etc.

Event Volunteers: Talk to prospective students at a local College Fair alongside Clarkson staff or join in the celebration of incoming first-year students at a Send-Off Picnic in your area and/or present Leadership and Achievement Awards to recipients at high schools near you when presenter is requested

Informal Interviews: Partner with admissions counselors to meet with prospective parents while students are being interviewed

Holcroft Recognition Award: Write a letter of recommendation for a first-year applicant applying to Clarkson and help them receive a $500 scholarship!

Making Connections: If you know a high school student who may be a good fit for Clarkson, put them in touch with the admissions counselor in your area. Or, reach out to the admissions counselor and ask how else you may be able to help! Find your area’s admissions counselor click here. (Ongoing, at your convenience)

Email alumni@clarkson.edu if you are interested in assisting in any of the way listed above.
