Earthquake Relief in Turkiye
The nation of Turkiye was devastated in February by multiple earthquakes. Clarkson alumnus Eric Trelease and Carson Smith were sent out by their local church to the earthquake zone on March 12th with Eric’s son, Silas, and local contractor Bill Hull. The team spent over a week feeding over 1,000 hot meals per day, putting up tents for those whose homes were damaged, and inspecting homes to see if they were safe enough to inhabit. The situation was overwhelming, but the team was glad they were able to meet immediate needs. This was just the first of three trips that Clarkson Alumni and students will be leading to Turkiye to help with the earthquake relief effort.
