One Gift Can Make All The Difference

Clarkson achieves $100M milestone, reflecting a robust and engaged community willing to invest meaningfully in Clarkson’s future.

Fay ’62 and Nadine Tolman’s generosity has enabled Clarkson to surpass $100 million in realized estate gifts, highlighting the profound impact of alumni giving on the University’s mission.

Established in 2000, the Fay ’62 and Nadine Tolman Endowed Scholarship Fund reflects the couple’s deep commitment to supporting education for promising students from New York’s North Country. This fund provides financial assistance to Clarkson undergraduate students from St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties, prioritizing those with financial need.

Fay Tolman, a proud Clarkson alumnus who had a successful career at Xerox and later worked in real estate with his wife, Nadine, passed away on August 7, 2022. Nadine’s passing followed soon after on April 6, 2023.

However, their legacy will continue for years to come. Their generous estate gift will exponentially grow the impact of their scholarship, allowing more deserving students to pursue their passions at Clarkson.

The Tolmans cherished receiving letters from scholarship recipients and fostered personal connections with the many students they supported. Despite residing primarily in Raleigh, North Carolina, the couple maintained strong ties to northern New York, reflecting their commitment to the region and its future leaders.

Their combined spirit of generosity will continue to enrich Clarkson and our community and nurture the next generation of America’s leaders, ensuring that Fay and Nadine’s legacy lives on.

The Tolmans were Clarkson Loyal, Leadership and Legacy donors within the Good Knights Guild.
