Trustee Challenge

The Trustee Challenge is your opportunity to make a real impact. Together, we can empower the next generation of Clarkson leaders to rise, thrive, and carry on our legacy. Will you join us?
What is the Trustee Challenge?
Clarkson’s Board of Trustees has issued the Clarkson community a philanthropic challenge. They have promised to increase their own gifts and match dollar for dollar up to $1 million for every donor who commits to a four-year recurring Clarkson Fund gift on a credit card, prior to July 1.

Why the Clarkson Fund?

Unrestricted giving. Core funding. Your generosity put to work where it’s needed most.
- Flexibility in Fund Allocation: Unrestricted gifts allow the university to allocate funds where they are most needed, whether for student scholarships, academic programs, faculty development, or campus improvements.
- Support for Immediate Needs: These donations provide the university with the ability to respond quickly to unexpected challenges or opportunities, such as covering unforeseen expenses or funding emerging programs.
- Enhances Institutional Growth: With unrestricted funds, the university can invest in strategic initiatives, including facility upgrades, technological advancements, and other projects that promote growth and attract new students.
- Improves the Student Experience: Unrestricted giving helps enhance student resources, from classroom technology and learning materials to extracurricular activities and support services, enriching their overall experience.
- Attracts External Funding and Strengthens Institutional Reputation: A strong foundation of unrestricted giving can make the university more appealing to large foundations and government entities, demonstrating broad community support and financial resilience. Regular unrestricted donations show broad community and alumni support, which can enhance the university’s reputation and credibility among prospective students, faculty, and donors.
- Fosters Innovation: Unrestricted gifts provide the freedom to fund experimental or innovative initiatives that might not otherwise be possible with restricted funds, encouraging new ideas and approaches to education.
