This webinar will explore, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the emergence of novel viruses, and the parameters which influence the rapidity and extent of their spread across the globe. The tone will be both introductory and potentially thought-provoking. Sections of the presentation will also cover “what viruses do”, “how our immune system adapts and responds”, “vaccine R&D”.
Dr. Kuki leads the Trudeau Institute as President and Director and brings a passion for transformational leadership in science and technology. Dr. Kuki has been engaged in Research & Development mission leadership and inaugural leadership roles in chemistry and biology for over 25 years. He has worked in leadership and executive teams across the entrepreneurial biotech sector, then into the large pharmaceutical industry sector, via acquisition into Pfizer Global R&D, then into the federal government contracting sector, leading advanced technologies for the National Cancer Institute.
