Student Spotlight: Haley Meshcon '23
At the core of the Clarkson Experience is a commitment to students and recognition that only through collaboration, teamwork and strong, productive relationships can we find lasting solutions. That works for donors, too. While individual gifts to Clarkson range from just a few to many millions of dollars, each gift expands opportunity. No matter its size, a gift represents the affirmation of Clarkson. And working together, even the smallest of gifts can produce powerful results. Building Futures through Scholarships
We believe all students should have access to the global possibilities of a Clarkson education. That’s why 96% of undergraduate students receive financial aid. Whether through long-term investments of endowments for scholarships, establishing Sponsored or Share Clarkson scholarships, or gifts to the Clarkson Fund, simply put: your gifts change students’ lives for the better. In the 2020-2021 academic year, scholarships and institutional aid were awarded to 2,798 undergraduate student recipients in excess of $93,000,000.
Grateful Golden Knights
You’re great. We’re grateful. We know you have a lot of options when it comes to giving. Your support of Clarkson University has had a tremendous impact on our students, faculty, programs and resources. Your generosity ensures students can learn, thrive, and lead. In Fall 2020, our students came together to express their gratitude for donors like you.
Covid-19 Student Emergency Relief Fund
Unanticipated challenges arose for many of our Golden Knight students and their families due to the coronavirus pandemic. Throughout the spring and summer of 2020, we learned about a growing number of students who faced new obstacles, including continuing their education due to loss of employment. Many of you reached out to see how you could help during such an unprecedented time. Thanks to your commitment to student success, you empowered our students to continue their educational pursuits at Clarkson by raising more than $650,000 and directly impacted over 200 students.
Cheel Expansion and Renovation
Thanks to your generosity, Cheel Arena has been transformed into a state of the art, multipurpose facility for all students to train, practice, and study. New amenities include the Steven J. Yianoukos ’72 Fitness and Recreation Facility, the Munter Climbing Wall, the John Buyers ’66 Sports Medicine Suite, a rapid shot room, and the David Glenn ’82 Hydrotherapy Room. Locker rooms, video and meeting rooms, lounge and study spaces, and the Phillip J. “Pinky” Ryan ’35 Strength and Conditioning Area were renovated. This modernized space will deliver the ideal experience to attract student-athletes and wow spectators. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Arena. Let’s Go Tech!
